At that time, S.A was the first and only Company in that industry. Italy has always had a key role in the manufacturing of bed linen and bath towels, garments and haute couture. at occasion, he met the Tajima brand. The idea of providing his customers with fabulous designs and the latest high tech embroidery machine absolutely thrilled him. In order to expand Studio Auriga's offer, Angelo and his school friend Adolfo Veronelli combined their efforts and started producing thread in 1983. Elena Gregotti and Alex Veronelli (2nd generation) joined the Company after University. Elena suddenly fell in love with the magnificent world of quilt and patchwork and convinced her father to approach that brand new market. Quilters immediately recognized our high quality thread and we achieved a pleasant feedback when we officially presented our product at the 2000 European Quilt Show in Strasbourg. Since then, we've significatively improved our spools aesthetics and the packaging and started selling our thread on the US Market through an importer. Mr Gregotti trusted in the US and significatively increased his investment. In 2007, we were definitively ready to stand on our own in the US. And that's when Aurifil USA Inc. was born!
