Gondolina compie 3 anni. E vogliamo festeggiarli con chi sente Venezia nel cuore.

Tre anni di passi, incontri, artigianalità, storie veneziane e donne che hanno scelto di portare con sé un pezzo di questa città.

Per il nostro anniversario apriamo le porte del nostro nuovo atelier a un momento speciale: un piccolo incontro dedicato alla nostra community, tra nuove creazioni, brindisi, racconti e un’anteprima riservata.

Sarà un momento intimo, veneziano, pensato per chi ama Gondolina e per chi vuole entrare nel nostro mondo più da vicino.

Sorprese e annunci inaspettati non mancheranno.

Three years ago, we started this journey with a dream, a lot of passion, and honestly… quite a few sleepless nights.

Since then, every step, every challenge, every achievement has been made possible thanks to people like you.

To celebrate, we would love to invite you to our 3rd Birthday Celebration this Friday at 5:30 PM at our newest Venetian atelier.

Did you know the iconic Furlana was born from recycled bed sheets and bicycle tires?

In this episode of The Gondolina Chronicles, we uncover the fascinating story behind one of Venice’s most beloved shoes.

In the early 1900s, women from Friuli brought these handmade slippers to Venice, but it was the gondoliers who turned them into a legend. Why? The recycled bicycle tire sole provided the perfect non-slip grip on their wet boats. 🛶✨

A story of ingenuity, sustainability, and authentic Venetian craftsmanship, born from necessity and transformed into an icon.

We had the honour of contributing to three families through this project, but many more still need support.

The Furlana’s story begins in the 1400s. First recorded around 1474, these iconic slippers were originally crafted by families in Friuli using repurposed fabrics for everyday life. But for life’s most precious moments like baptisms, weddings, celebrations, they were elevated into velvet.

At our Venetian atelier, we don’t just make shoes. We guard a legacy. Every Gondolina Furlana is still handmade preserving the quiet elegance and artisanal soul that has traveled through time.
