Good Luck Shoes Blog

Our project was initiated one evening last summer when we met up with our friend Raffaele. A recently trained psychologist, Raffaele had just started working in a nearby Immigration Centre, a re-purposed old hotel on the Adriatic coast that was being rapidly filled by people who were being rescued at sea, principally off the coast of Sicily, and then bused to the Centre whilst their immigration application was being considered.

Raffaele was employed to help out with the general running of the centre that temporarily houses a mainly young Sub-Saharan male population, and was hearing unbelievably harrowing stories from some of the traumatised guys he was working with.
