With top-tier talent from the New York City Ballet and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater on the bill, the Little Theatre was at capacity on Saturday, August 29, for the opening night of Plié for the Arts’ annual dance showcase Amalgamation.

Miss World Jamaica 2026 Nevaeh Allen shifted into competition mode for Miss World 2026 early at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest at Dragon Beach Square in Hai Phòng, Vietnam, on August 18. Strutting down the runway in a stunning creation by Vietnamese designer LaSen Vu, she made her mark during the opening round of the Miss World Top Model contest — and took fans behind the scenes to capture the excitement offstage.

Shifting to Los Angeles, Rock-blooded actor Aaron Pierre was spotted at the Paramount Theatre on August 13 for the red carpet première of his new DC series Lanterns ahead of its official release on HBO Max on August 16. Pierre takes on the role of Green Lantern Corps recruit John Stewart, who finds himself guided by veteran Lantern Hal Jordan, portrayed by Kyle Chandler.

Meanwhile, Japanese model Ikko Ohira wears The Cloth’s Moko Jumbie Jacket for — a feature following the model’s journey from Japan to the international fashion world in Europe — bringing Robert Young and Sophie Bufton’s Caribbean luxury house into the global style spotlight.

The legal fraternity brought silver-screen elegance to the Jamaica Pegasus hotel ballroom on Friday, July 31 for the 2026 Jamaican Bar Association Annual Awards Banquet. Channelling Old Hollywood, guests arrived in their vintage best to celebrate the stars of the evening, Paula Llewellyn, KC, and Ian Wilkinson, KC, who were recognised as this year’s honorees.

The evening also paid tribute to The evening also paid tribute to veteran legal practitioners marking 50 years at the Bar, together with a posthumous award honouring Sasha-Marie Ashley, senior parish court judge for Hanover, who passed away last March.

Bringing greetings, Prime Minister Andrew Holness lauded Llewellyn and Wilkinson for their steadfast commitment to Jamaica’s legal profession across decades of stewardship, their strength of character, and their sterling contributions to shaping Jamaica’s legal institutions.

“Through their distinguished service, they have contributed to the development of Jamaican jurisprudence and to the strength and standing of the legal profession. They have demonstrated that excellence at the Bar requires much more than technical knowledge. It demands discipline, preparation, courage, integrity, and an abiding respect for institutions,” Holness said.

Guests enjoyed an exclusive preview of ATL’s latest Audi offerings, while learning about CIBC’s tailored financing solutions to make Audi ownership more accessible. Saturday, July 4, saw style take over the rooftop of Mezza Luna in Kingston for Lazuli — a boutique fashion show and party experience hosted by National Commercial Bank. Immersed in a Mediterranean-inspired oasis styled by Shikima Hinds Events & Concierge, guests enjoyed an atmosphere that set the tone for the evening’s festivities.

Spotlighting the best of local design talent for a stylish set of patrons, the evening’s fashion showcase featured seven collections from Karina Mahbubani & Alpa Manchandia, Janseen Graham, Lisa McIntosh, Ackeilia Caine, Pebbles King, and Kadian Nicely.
