The Landscapes That Shape KINOTTO -
At KINOTTO, we visit the factories we have had the pleasure of working with for
many years, travelling across Japan to share the people, places, and everyday
scenes behind MADE IN JAPAN craftsmanship.
In this edition of our NOTE, we take you to a knitting factory in Wakayama, one of
Japan’s leading regions for circular-knit fabrics, and bring you a glimpse into the
landscape where our cut-and-sew pieces take shape.

Inside a Knitting Factory
“We want a fabric that brings out the soft, fluffy feel of cotton, while still having just
the right amount of structure. Something lightweight, yet resistant to losing its
shape. Something that keeps its beautiful texture wash after wash, with just a hint
of elegance.”
Our words may be simple, but the intention behind them is quite particular.
At the knitting factory, they understand exactly the kind of texture and character
we have in mind - and turn that vision into fabric, just as we imagined.
