YUIMA NAKAZATO
YUIMANAKAZATO はファッションにとっては極めて実験的な素材やデザインを調査探索し、それを自身の 制作するファッションに採用してきました。今回は2023年1月のパリオートクチュールウイーク(Paris Haute Couture Week)の準備のために、約40体の4分の1スケールのスタディーモデルを作り、それを インスタレーションとして並べます。製作期間中にこの模型によって、ファッションの形態や素材の検討を 行い、アイデアの完成度を煮詰め、それが発表作品に結晶します。こうした模型を多数俯瞰してみることで、 作品の基本アイデアの変化と流れを把握し、新しいコレクションの全体像を掴むことができるのです。 感覚的で情緒的に見えるファッション表現のプロセスにこのような論理的な製作手法が用いられていること を知ることは興味深いことでしょう。そしてそこにテキスタイルの実験の可能性も含まれているのです。 YUIMA NAKAZATO は日本のファッション業界でも、最も注目される若手デザイナーで2016年7月から森 英恵氏以来、日本人として史上2人目となる、パリ・オートクチュール・ファッションウィーク公式ゲスト デザイナーに選ばれ、コレクションを発表し続けています。

YUIMA NAKAZATO researches and explores cutting-edge experimental materials and designs for fashion,
which he then applies to his own creations. Here, he presents an installation of quarter-scale study models for the upcoming Paris Haute Couture Week in January 2023. Nakazato often makes models of this scale to examine materials and review different modes of fashion. During the production process, he uses these models to further refine his ideas, which take shape as the final works he presents to the world. He plans to display nearly 40 of these models for this exhibition, providing a bird's-eye view of how a basic idea can change and evolve through the production process and presenting an overall picture of his new collection.
Viewers will undoubtedly be intrigued by how such a logical production process can lead to fashion designs that look so sensual and emotional. But this process involves possibilities for experimenting with textiles. Yuima Nakazato has emerged as one of the most notable young designers in the Japanese fashion industry. In July 2016, he became the second Japanese designer in history and the first since Hanae MORI to be selected as an official guest designer for the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, where he presented his first Paris Couture collection.
