KIKKA / PHANTOM WINGS SERIES
Born for battle—yet never released into the battlefield.
Developed in the final stages of World War II, the Kikka was Japan’s first jet aircraft.
While influenced by Germany’s Me 262, it was engineered with a uniquely Japanese design philosophy.
Standing at the forefront of its time, yet never deployed in combat,
the Kikka embodies the very essence of the Phantom Wings Series—
wings that were never meant to fly in war.
This piece draws inspiration from the Kikka, capturing the stark beauty of a military machine,
while translating the human elements behind it—technology, ambition, and memory—into a single design.
The front features the print “JET GENESIS,”
while the back showcases a bold aircraft graphic, accompanied by detailed captions
that convey the aircraft’s specifications and historical narrative.

Développé à la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le Kikka fut le premier avion à réaction du Japon.
Influencé par le Me 262 allemand, il fut néanmoins conçu selon une philosophie proprement japonaise.
