A special project 2026-2076
I am offering for sale the most important garment in my vintage collection—one that I value above all others.
To be honest, I don’t truly want to part with it right now.
However, I do believe that I would like to sell it at some point before I die.
So I have decided on a unique pricing approach:
I will start at the highest possible price now, then lower the price every year, with the goal that it will reach a fair market value in 50 years, in 2076.
This year’s starting price is 100,000,000 JPY (approximately USD $ 637,600 at the current exchange rate).
I think this price alone should give you a clear sense of just how reluctant I am to let this suit go.
2026: 100,000,000 JPY
2027: 95,000,000 JPY
2028: 90,000,000 JPY
2036: 55,000,000 JPY
2046: 20,000,000 JPY
2056: 5,000,000 JPY
2066: 800,000 JPY
2076: 100,000 JPY (last price)
This suit is a sportswear garment made by “A.G. Spalding” around the 1900-1910s.
It was likely intended for football, baseball, or possibly tennis.
The size is small—approximately a men’s size 36.
There are many moth holes, but considering it is a white wool garment from that era, the condition is truly remarkable.
Please contact me via DM if you are interested.
I am not joking. I am completely serious.
If there is no buyer, I will lower the price again next New Year.
