My Perfect Little Purse What makes this sweet little purse perfect? For a little bag, the purse has so much room!

It's organized with a main inner pouch, a back pouch (for easy access to phone) and 2 outer front pouches. It closes with heavy duty velcro so everything stays inside. Constructed with designer upholstery weight fabrics (often upcycled) and durable lining. Stiff interfacing is added so even though it’s fabric, it functions like any other purse and won't collapse on itself. Durable cording for the

strap so it won’t slide off your shoulder. Purse measures approx. 9" x 9" with a 48" strap.

Weaving on my potholder loom in the car is the perfect activity when rolling west on interstate 70 across Kansas back to Colorado. It’s better than beading because, you know, beads go everywhere in the car!

Back in the’80’s, when I was discovering my connection to native peoples, I was very drawn to learning about Navajo/Dine ceremonial sand paintings which are used by shamans to aid in healing. They are based on the Dine origin stories and history meant to bring person back in balance and health. This one features the corn maidens which represent the life-giving power of corn, embodiment of fertility and growth. Here is the work I created using seed beads, honoring the corn maidens.

Blue corn ceramic beads given to me by my sister and repurposed into a new necklace. I usually grow blue corn every year so that I can make my own posole. But I’m taking a break from it this year because of the drought in Colorado. These will do!

Work in progress! A long, narrow denim jacket with some interesting features is a canvas for fabrics. I collected in Japan and Guatemala. Next up, embroidering in Japanese Sashiko style. Stay tuned!

When I thrifted a pristine white jacket and a bold tropical print panel, I was reminded of the art of a good friend from Florida, Deborah Tobias. Here is the results so far. Still pondering whether I should add anything to the front. 🤔

Handwoven loopy cotton on top and on the bottom, repurposed Guatemalan loom woven table napkins purchased from the owner of a roadside cafe in Belize. Fabric adventures!
