CDI was founded by British architect Benjamin Warner in 1993. Benjamin frst came to Japan in 1981 as an Assistant Architect to Masayuki Kurokawa. This was followed by a further two years at the Tokyo Institute of Technology where he was awarded a scholarship by the Japanese Ministry of Education and a further year at Nikken Sekkei. Benjamin returned to the UK in 1987, where he started work at Rich

ard Rogers Partnership and he is currently Managing Director for Asia. In 1993 he founded Creative Design International (CDI) which has built more than 70 architectural and inte-rior design projects in Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan and the UK. Benjamin is a part time lecturer at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Niigata National University. He is fluent in Japanese and divides his time between Tokyo and Shanghai.

The British School now occupies all 5 floors. It has been a pleasure to work with them, and to see them grow so much since we first designed only a single floor for the secondary school students.
