Day 18 of Me Made May and I’ve pulled out a coat that I still can’t believe I haven’t worn yet… I finished this coat YEARS ago and promptly put it in my closet for safekeeping. I’ve been too worried that the strands will get caught and break…. But it needs to have a day in the sun. And such a perfect (chilly) day it is!

To kick off Me Made May, I would like to start with my handmade outfit for 2026!
This year’s theme was Making Through the Decades and I chose sew a vintage 70s pattern with fabric from Mood NYC.
My jacket and pants are made with pattern with a bright pink chevron jacquard.
My shirt is made with vintage Simplicity pattern using a polyester georgette from

My 2024 looked a little different than past years.
While I still have had a passion for sewing, my year was filled with an abundance of other things. Including 4 new jobs, 6 road trips, 3 weekend getaways, publishing 7 YouTube videos, hosting 2 local sewing meetups, planning Twin Cities Frocktails, and volunteering 50+ hours in my local community.
And in the midst of all of this, I still found time for 12 sewing projects this year.
Funny enough, while navigating what makes me happy, sewing still kept me grounded.
I’m excited to enter in to 2025 while finding more time for what makes me happiest: sewing and creating
