The Kettlebell Lunge is a great exercise to improve single leg strength as well as developing mobility in the hips which is excellent for sports and general movement skill. Also a form of cardio workout tooĺ. Before progressing onto any kettlebell lunge, it is important to have developed lunge strength by practicing without any weight at all.
Master the movement first before loading it with a kettlebell. A poor lunge technique will only be magnified when adding extra load and will result in faulty movement patterns that are harder to rectify at a later date.
Lunges are an excellent functional exercise that build muscle and power in your lower body and can increase your mobility and range of motion.
You can really challenge your lower body in various ways simply by changing where and how you hold the weight(s) during your lunges.
