A suspected first case of Ebola has reportedly been identified at AAR Hospital along Kiambu Road. The patient is said to be a Turkish national, and samples have been taken to the National Public Health Laboratory for testing and analysis.

Location: Nairobi North Sub Region
Roysambu Sub County
Roysambu Division
Roysambu Location
Date: June 1, 2026

Incident Details:

According to reports, a Turkish national who was feeling unwell and exhibiting symptoms consistent with Ebola presented himself at AAR Hospital at approximately 11:00 p.m.

The hospital is located along Kiambu Road between Muthaiga North and Ridgeways Estate.

Medical personnel reportedly considered Ebola among the possible diagnoses during the initial assessment. However, the patient was said to be uncooperative and requested to leave the facility before the test results were available.

Action Taken:

Nairobi County and Sub County Public Health Officers were notified and are reportedly handling the matter.
Due to the diplomatic nature of the case and the patient's reluctance to remain under observation pending test results, the OCS Muthaiga was informed for guidance.

Samples were collected and forwarded to the National Public Health Laboratory for further examination to confirm or rule out Ebola, after which appropriate medical decisions will be made.

Fredrick Gitije, a Biology teacher at Kindani Secondary School in Igembe South, Meru County, became one of the most vocal critics of Igembe South Member of Parliament Hon.John Paul Mwirigi. In community forums, social media, and public discussions, he openly accused the young legislator of arrogance and failing to deliver on campaign promises. He questioned the lack of visible development in roads, schools, youth opportunities, and constituency services, extending his concerns to broader issues of resource management and leadership.

His sharp, consistent voice earned him local admiration as a champion of accountability, but it also marked him as a perceived threat in tense political circles.

On December 23, 2025, Gitije was last seen in Maua town. He never returned home.
His wife, Fridah Njoki, their children, and the extended family endured months of anguish—nearly four to five months of desperate searching, prayers, and clinging to hope amid growing rumors and uncertainty.

Then came the horrific discovery.

A Kenya Forest Service officer on routine patrol deep in Nyambene Forest, Igembe Central, came across a human skeleton hanging from a tree in an advanced state of decomposition. The flesh had largely been stripped away by time, the elements, and wildlife, leaving mostly bones suspended in the remote isolation of the forest.

Some limbs were missing, and a piece of cloth was tied around the neck or just below it. Police determined the remains had hung there for several months, aligning with the timeline since his disappearance.

The scene was processed, and the bones were taken to Nyambene Level 4 Hospital mortuary.

DNA analysis and a pathologist’s examination officially confirmed the identity as Teacher Fredrick Gitije, resolving earlier family skepticism caused by the skeleton’s condition.

The hanging position and reports of a pesticide bottle near the scene pointed toward su***de. Gitije may have been dealing with personal pressures., question is was he?

Hapa Sharp Boy naye alifanya mbaaaya…
I once attended a job interview and found 11 other applicants waiting outside the office.

Immediately, I knew competition ilikuwa serious.

To make matters worse for them, I was the best dressed candidate there. Clean suit. Sharp shoes. Confidence ya mtu amepewa soft life tutorial by life itself.

Then a friend dropped me at the gate using a black Mercedes-Benz E250.

The other applicants looked at me the same way wananchi look at government projects launched with balloons and police es**rt.

I entered confidently and greeted everyone:

“Good morning ladies and gentlemen. You are all here for the interview?”

They nodded respectfully.

At that point, I saw fear and unemployment mixed equally in their eyes.

Then I said:

“Kindly hand me your CVs and give me a few minutes.”

To this day, I still do not understand why fully grown adults trusted me that fast.

One guy even removed his CV from a transparent folder very carefully like he was handing over title deeds.

I walked to the corridor carrying all the CVs like a man who owned the company.

Then I made two fake but extremely important phone calls:

“Yes sir… yes sir… qualifications look okay… no sir… we cannot exceed budget…”

I even nodded aggressively at the wall for professionalism.

After five minutes, I returned looking stressed and overworked.

The room became silent immediately.

Then I announced:

“The company only needs two people. If I return your CV, please leave quietly. If I don’t, remain for the final interview.”

At that moment, tension entered the room like KPLC tokens on a Friday night.

I started returning CVs one by one.

“Unfortunately not this round.”

“Try again next time.”

“We’ll keep your details.”

One lady even thanked me for the opportunity.
People stood up peacefully and left.
No arguments. No questions. No verification.
Kenyans are very disciplined when defeated professionally.

After a few minutes, the HR lady came out and found only two of us

My first was swahili
her common first name name was very common and her second name, too religious

I don't remember her just because she was my first-No!
I too cant tell if its the gap in her teeth that does not erase or blur the memory of her face in my mind
Sometimes i wonder how i can draw her face in my heard perfectly and not miss the circumference of her dimples
Nor how i can write her name in the air and still spell it out like it has always been there.

She knew how to wear a smile right but i still had to teach her which leg went into which shoe and which was wrong! Before we started calling each other "beb"
And smile at each others text

I was so sure I'd marry her
And she'd carry my luhya surname before she carried my seed in her belly-make me some mini mes
Oooh, how We pictured our relatives smiles and congratulations as we exchanged vows
We Chose our honeymoon destination...
We even planned our wedding reception same place she made her anniversary reservations with her husband every year
