Position: Accountant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant with CPA Level Two certification/diploma to join our dynamic team at VaaKenya Limited. The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to contribute to strategic financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with Kenyan accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management on profitability, liquidity, and financial health.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate funds for operational needs.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial planning processes.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities during audits and tax filings.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Support management in making informed business decisions by providing financial analysis, forecasts, and recommendations.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements affecting the company.
**Requirements:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field or CPA Part II certification from a recognized institution.
- Proven work experience as an Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing or retail environment.
- Sound knowledge of Kenyan accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Quickbooks
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare clear and concise reports.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and professionalism.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
