"FRUITY OATMEAL

I quickly whipped this banana oatmeal and topped it with more fruits after a fail in making it with pineapples (turned out to soo bitter).

I used 1 cup of fresh milk to 1/2 cup of oats and added in 1 mashed banana.Cooked for 5-7 minutes and added in more milk to cook it off quickly as baby couldn’t wait no more.🙂🙂"

"PAN FRIED CASSAVA, PLAIN YOGHURT WITH CHIA SEEDS & KIWI

He enjoyed this though he only ate a few pieces of the cassava and yoghurt.No kiwi was eaten today unlike how he devoured it yesterday.

I pressure boiled the cassava for 15 mins till they were very soft,cut into small pieces and shallow fried till golden.(Fried mine till they were a bit crunchy).

DAL RICE AND FRIED FISH 🐟

The ultimate comfort food for the weekend! Marinaded some red snapper overnight with lime juice, garlic, and pepper and pan fried the next day with some ghee. She loved it so much.

Thanks for all the suggestions for new foods to introduce. We did grapes this morning! I try as far as possible not to buy imported food and I usually always find imported grapes in the stores. Found some local red seedless ones yesterday so Eva finally got to try some grapes today!

✨PLUM OATMEAL ✨

Good time to make this as plums are in plenty ,sweet & Juicy.

Ingredients
1 tsp butter
1 /4 cup of oats
1/2 cup of milk(more if needed)
5 plums deseeded
1 tsp cinnamon

Put the whole plums in hot water to remove skin.Rinse with cold water and cut in small pieces or blend for younger babies.

In a cookpot , melt the butter and add in oats and plums,toast for 2 mins , add cinnamon then milk, stirring occasionally for 5 mins till desired consistency.
Let cool and serve. ( #📷 @ )

This is such a nice combo.
Baby C really enjoyed it.I got some sweet potatoes that needed to be used up so I made them with this chicken.

This is how I made it.

1 chicken piece( breast /shred from the bone)
1sweet potato
1 onion
1 garlic clove
1 tomato
2 cups water.
Oil

Peel the sweet potato and cut in cubes/wedges.
In a cookpot,Pour in oil, then add in the onions and garlic,cook till golden brown.
Add in the grated tomato and simmer for 2mins.
Add the sweet potato and chicken and stir well.
Pour in the water and let cook till soft ( preferably 20 mins).
Let cool and serve. ( #📷 )

We are big oats for breakfast fans! Have you tried this High Iron Oatmeal by baby.yum.yum

This easy to make breakfast is rich in iron from the coconut milk and an addition of vitamin C for absorption from the pineapples.
So yummy too.

You’ll only need ;
1/2 cup of oats
1 tsp of butter
2 tbsp of pineapples
1 cup of coconut milk

Melt the butter and add in the oats ,toast for 3 mins then add in the milk.Cook till desired consistency (preferably 4 mins), Cool and mix in the pineapples.
Serve .

✨Coconut milk can be substituted for coconut water.
✨Can be blended for a finer texture. ( #📷 )

I’m still not over our first birthday week, but willing to let go and start planning for Christmas now 😅 I always love birthdays and holidays but I think I’ve looked forward to them even more this year. We would ideally have been at home right now celebrating with our friends and family, but still grateful to have been able to celebrate in a small way here in Nairobi despite everything.

Anyhow this was our lunch today. We had some brownsfoodco chilli marinaded halloumi with portobello mushrooms and sautéed peppers in ciabatta from tiramisubakery_ke. Eva had dosa, egg curry, and some peppers too. She tried red and yellow peppers for the first time today. I’m still trying to introduce as many new foods and ingredients as possible, but running out of ideas and options now. Suggestions are most welcome! ( #📷 .eva.eats )
