One of the most talked about event this weekend was Marion's 40th birthday party.

Her outfit got a backlash and love in equal measures.

Some that it was stylish and stood out while others thought it was a let down and did not stand out at all.

We however think the problem was not the cover up or the person wearing it but rather the hype put on it before it was launched.

With such loud statement "in the making of this outfit", people expectations were raised high considering the hype came few days after and Nigerians people expectation were shot over the roof and expectations were to match the two events or above but nothing below that.

Our advice is that for upcoming events, Hype the outfit on the launch day and after to avoid raising higher expectations. We are still growing in the fashion space.

Also learn more from the leading designers in the fashion space. Like having a photo shoot with the outfit pre event.This gives both the designer and model room to properly highlight the outfit and even wear it properly and send the exactly message it was supposed to send
