Mambo Pambo seeks to change the way people view and experience locally made clothes by offering high-quality, beautifully crafted and well-fitting afro-inspired apparel, designed and proudly made in Kenya

We are continually seeking new ways to fashion clothes that reflect each client’s unique personality, interests and lifestyle. Each one of our garments is designed and crafted in our studio and

workshop. Africa and nature intertwine to fuel our inspiration. Based out of Nairobi, we are a closely knit team of designers, artisans and craftsmen who love working with varied fabric and nuanced textures, to fuse each member’s contribution into every Mambo Pambo piece. We love meeting our clients and take pleasure in being an approachable studio. Should you want to swing by or make an order, please contact us.

IN HER ELEMENT: RACHEL MSHENGA

This week, we celebrate Rachel Luvuno Mshenga—a dedicated educator whose journey reflects service, growth and quiet leadership.

A University of Nairobi alumna and long-serving teacher under the Teachers Service Commission, Rachel has steadily risen through the profession and currently serves as Deputy Headteacher at Mazeras Girls Memorial Secondary School.

Her story reminds us that impact is not always loud. Sometimes, it is found in the classroom, in the guidance offered to a young person and in the steady commitment to shaping lives—one learner at a time.

Rachel, we honour the work you do, the leadership you bring and the generations whose futures are brighter because you chose education.

Here she is, beautifully in her element—and beautifully dressed in Mambo Pambo. ❤️

SUNDAY BEST ❤️

Because some Sundays call for colour, drama and a beautiful maxi.

Bold red. Statement print. Those sleeves. And an easy, sweeping silhouette that does all the talking.

This is the kind of dress that doesn’t need much else — just put it on and show up. ❤️

In Her Element this week is Professor Jennifer Muchiri (Jenie Muchiri) —an accomplished literary scholar, researcher, author and academic leader whose work carries African voices into global conversations.

An Associate Professor in the Department of Literature at the University of Nairobi, Prof. Muchiri currently serves as Associate Dean in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Her work spans African and Caribbean literature, life writing and women’s writing, with a particular interest in how African women tell their own stories, define themselves and claim their rightful place in history.

She is the author of Women’s Autobiography: Voices from Independent Kenya, a significant work examining the experiences and perspectives of Kenyan women through their own narratives.

Beyond Kenya, Prof. Muchiri contributes to international academic networks and collaborations that connect African scholars and institutions with the wider world. Through teaching, research, writing and leadership, she is helping ensure that African perspectives are not only preserved at home, but recognised and engaged with globally.

We are honoured to count this remarkable scholar and leader among the women who wear Mambo Pambo.

Professor Jennifer Muchiri—in her element. 💛
