TATZU is a Japanese fashion brand that deconstructs vintage kimono and reconstructs them as contemporary streetwear.

This is more than a simple remake.

Every garment is redesigned from its structure, allowing the original fabric, pattern, and silhouette to become one.

Because every piece begins with a different vintage kimono, no two garments are ever the same.

Elegant birds, peonies, pine trees, traditional motifs, and the original family crest are thoughtfully positioned to create a different expression from every angle.

This piece is reconstructed from a vintage komon kimono, transformed into a refined mermaid silhouette with cape sleeves.

The neckline is deeply cut to the chest, forming a subtle heart-shaped line that enhances the feminine structure.

From bust to waist and hips, the form is carefully shaped to follow the body, before gently flaring into a soft mermaid hem at knee length.

The cape sleeves, designed in a half-length cut, create movement and elegance while maintaining a modern balance.

Across the fabric, butterflies emerge as the central motif—symbols of transformation, freedom, and rebirth.
