Amboh, literally fabric yarn in Khmer, is a new original shoe brand making espadrille in Cambodia. Handmade from cotton fabric, such as the iconic Cambodian Krama, and jute sole, it is a must for the Cambodian way of life.
All the fabrics we use have been traded in Cambodia, the espadrille are made in Phnom Penh, in Amboh’s ethical workshop.
Amboh Brand
Espadrille, originaly from south west of France, is a casual easy to wear “silp-on” shoe made from natural products. Amboh, literally fabric yarn in Khmer, produces handmade espadrille that fits the new Cambodian way of life.
Amboh espadrille, based in Phnom Penh, is a product of Cambodia handcrafted by Cambodian women. All the fabrics we use have been traded in Cambodia and the most iconic one, the Cambodian Krama, which is traditionally made by countryside families, is the flagship product of the brand. Amboh espadrille has been designed for any situation from casual, classy, simple to fashion.
Espadrilles are famous all around the world specially during the summer season when you have short pants or a skirt on, going to the beach, for a city walk or an evening with friends.
TIPS: We recommend to buy your Amboh espadrille a bit tight as the fabric will slightly extend to your foot shape after few days.
Our Ambition:
Having our own workshop allows us 4 things, create models from scratch, change models as often as we want, open customization options and create a great family story with Amboh workers. Our staffs work in very good condition and are fairly paid.
Our ambition is to make Cambodian realize how important is to produce and consume as much as possible local. This way Cambodia will make adding value for the country, instead of spending money overseas by importing!! We would love to donate to Cambodian association in a near future, we are for now trying to sustain the company and make a great start.
