: My Trophy, 2026. 05
이번 작업은 단순히 좋아하는 이미지들을 배치한 구조라기보다, 제 자신에 대한 이야기를 상징적으로 담아낸 구성이에요. 실제로 제 몸에는 오른쪽에 어머니를, 왼쪽에는 아버지와 아들을 상징하는 타투들이 자리하고 있는데, 이 구조가 이번 작업 안에도 자연스럽게 연결되었습니다. 왼편은 현재의 저 자신을 상징합니다. 저는 누군가의 아들이면서 동시에 한 아이의 아버지이기도 하기 때문이에요. 그래서 E.T.나 조던 비디오테이프처럼 오랫동안 저를 구성해 온 이미지들을 왼쪽에, 어머니를 떠올리게 하는《Parks》와《Mother》는 오른편에 놓았습니다. 이번 구성은 가족과 기억, 저를 이루고 있는 시간의 층위를 하나의 구조 안에 담아낸 작업에 가깝습니다.
This piece is less about arranging images I like, and more about symbolically telling a story about myself. On my body, my right side carries tattoos representing my mother, while my left holds tattoos representing my father and son — and that structure naturally carried over here. The left represents who I am now, as both someone‘s son and a father. So I placed the images that have long defined me on the left, and on the right, the books connected to my mother. This composition holds within a single structure the layers of family, memory, and the time that has made me who I am.
