Everything around us is pulled toward the center of the earth at an acceleration of 9.8 meters per second. This absolute force is the invisible designer that defines the form of all things — the order that constitutes nature itself. Just as we cannot feel gravity in our daily lives, we live in quiet surrender to forces we cannot see. Our society, institutions, and customs share this same quality. As invisible designers, they are embedded in the thoughts and objects we accept without question. This exhibition experiments with form at the boundary where opposing forces meet — where the pull of gravity and the resistance against it hold each other in balance.

장충동에서 올 초부터 준비한 9.8m/s² Matter 전시를 .lee_swna 와 이 함께 합니다.

우리 주변의 모든 사물은 초당 9.8미터의 가속도로 지구 중심을 향해 끌려간다. 이 절대적인 수치는 사물의 형태를 규정하는 보이지 않는 설계자이자 자연을 이루는 질서 그 자체다. 우리는 일상에서 중력을 느낄 수 없듯, 이러한 보이지 않는 힘에 순응하며 살아간다. 우리의 사회, 제도, 관습 또한 중력과 같은 속성을 지닌다. 보이지 않는 설계자로서, 우리가 비판 없이 받아들이는 사고와 사물 속에 녹아 있다. 이번 전시는 중력에 반하는 힘과의 긴장 속에서, 끌어당김과 버팀이 균형을 이루는 그 경계를 형태로 실험한다.

Cat-Leg Soban
Joseon Korea was defined by Confucian order — yet full of warmth and quiet humor. The traditional soban carried both. We replaced the classic dog-leg with a cat’s — four legs caught mid-stride, as if tiptoeing across a rooftop tile. Strict form. Playful soul.

고양이 다리 소반
유교적 질서 속에서도 해학과 정이 살아 있던 조선처럼, 소반 역시 그 둘을 함께 품어왔다. 전통 개다리를 고양이의 다리로 치환했다. 기와 위를 살금살금 걷는 듯 네 다리는 움직인다. 단단한 형식과 유쾌한 영혼을 표현했다.
