Ms Khaisy Sophabmixay is a master weaver born in Xam Neau in the north of Laos, an area known for some of the finest textiles in all of South East Asia. Khaisy was taught weaving by her mother who was known to be an exceptionally gifted weave since she was 8. During the Vietnam war Khaisy and her sisters helped their mother to produce textiles and cloth to exchange food and supplies with other vil
lagers. in 2000, she set up her own stall at the Ethnic markets selling silk textiles and antique Hill tribe Clothing. In 2005, Khaisy Handicraft business was established where she began to create exceptional pieces of silk that would be sold in boutiques and galleries all around the world. We have many kind of products such as silk, Lao skirt, the products of silk and etc. In 2006, Khaisy worked with the French Ministry of culture, led by renowned designer Frederic Molenac to create several couture pieces that were modern versions of traditional Lao and hill tribe clothing. This exhibition was exhibited at the French Cultural Centre and later in Paris and travelled around Europe and Japan in 2007. In 2010, Khaisy was awarded the runner up prize at the ASEAN textile competition held in Bangkok. In 2015, Khaisy’s handbag design won the gift award organized by JETRO ( Japan external Trade Organization). In 2016, Khaisy’s shawl reached the winner award from the minister of industry and commerce. In 2017, Khaisy’s handbag design won the 3th prize from the gift award. Khaisy continues to produce silk of the highest quality for clients around the world including exclusive Japanese department stores. All textiles produced by Khaisy are created using natural dyes such as flowers, leaves and bark. All the dyes are sourced locally. Seasonal and local, to work in harmony with the natural environment. This is the way textiles have been created for centuries.

ປີ 2015 ກະເປົາທີ່ເຮັດຈາກຜ້າໃໝ ຂອງຫັດຖະກຳໄຄສີ ຊະນະການປະກວດຂອງຂວັນດີເດັ່ນ ທີ່ຈັດຂຶ້ນໂດຍອົງການ JETRO ຂອງຍີປຸ່ນ.
