On this day, April 24, we commemorate the 111th remembrance of the Armenian Genocide.
As a descendant of survivors from the village of Sis, I carry the resilience of a people who refused to be silenced. Today, as I stand on this sacred ground, the weight of history feels more present than ever.
The injustice we honor here is not just a memory; it is a mirror to the oppression currently unfolding in our region. From the soil of Armenia to the heart of Lebanon and the suffering in Palestine, the struggle for existence remains the same. Our collective endurance is our greatest testimony.
Today, my prayers are for justice - for the ancestors we lost, and for the brothers and sisters whose voices are being tested today. We are a people of chapters, and we will continue to rise.
في هذا اليوم، الرابع والعشرين من نيسان، نستذكر مرور ١١١ عاماً على الإبادة الجماعية للأرمن.
سليلُ ناجين من قرية “سيس”، أحمل في وجداني إرث شعبٍ لم يعرف الانكسار. واليوم، وأنا أقف على هذه الأرض المباركة، أشعر بثقل التاريخ يزداد حضوراً في داخلي كما لم أشعر به من قبل.
ما نستذكره اليوم ليس مجرد ذكرى عابرة، بل هو امتداد لمعاناةٍ ما زالت تتكرر في منطقتنا. من أرمينيا إلى لبنان وفلسطين، يبقى وجع الشعوب واحداً، كما يبقى صمودها المشترك أصدق شهادة في وجه الظلم.
أرفع اليوم صلاتي من أجل العدالة؛ لأرواحٍ غابت، ولأناسٍ ما زالوا يواجهون القهر كل يوم. نحن أبناء الفصول، وسنظل ننهض مهما اشتدت المحن.
