To my Shia brothers and sisters in Islam:
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
I want you to know that as a Sunni Muslim, I hold deep love and respect for you because of your profound love and reverence for Ahl al-Bayt — the blessed household of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The way you remember Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husayn رضي الله عنهم, and the way you keep the sacrifice of Karbala alive in your hearts, reminds all of us of the importance of standing for truth, justice, and loyalty to the Prophet ﷺ and his family. That love is not small — it’s commanded by Allah in the Quran when He says: “Say, I do not ask you for any reward except love for my near relatives” [42:23].
We may have differences in history and jurisprudence, but our hearts meet on the love of the Prophet ﷺ and his family. That love is a light, and I ask Allah to make it a bridge between us, not a wall.
May Allah unite our hearts upon tawheed, upon the sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ, and upon sincere love for Ahl al-Bayt. May He forgive us all, guide us all, and gather us all with the Prophet ﷺ and his family on the Day of Judgment. Ameen.
With respect and brotherhood/sisterhood in Islam.
