Another chapter of SNO comes to a close, but as we all know when one door closes another one opens, and I’m excited for what’s to come.
From birthdays, to photoshoots, to Christmas parties with our friends , to aesthetic balcony pics, steamy lunch packets and a tiny new boss, the last four years has been full of memories and many colleagues that became friends. We were lucky to work in a place designed by a pioneering woman, Minette de Silva, and often had tour groups coming through to see her work live on. I liked to think she would have also approved of a small group of creative female owned businesses working from her space.
I’ve wanted to go fully remote for a while, after COVID we drastically reduced our in studio days to Wednesdays only and pretty much kept it that way since unless we had a deadline or a design intensive, and I like being able to offer designers an alternative to long commutes and mandatory office days which are commonplace in Colombo. If anyone wanted a change of scene everyone had a key and it’s a general ethos I like to keep for SNO; flexibility and freedom.
So as we move forward it’s been nice to take a look back in our gallery and bid a fond farewell to our Gregory’s Road studio ✨
