Dhananjaya de Silva, a prominent Sri Lankan cricketer, has had a significant impact in domestic cricket, showcasing his skills as a versatile all-rounder.
Early Domestic Career:
De Silva began his cricket journey at Deberawewa National School in Tissamaharama, Hambantota, and later attended Richmond College in Galle, where he captained the first XI cricket team in the 2010/2011 season. 
Notable Achievements:
• 2015-2016 Season: De Silva had an impressive domestic season, scoring 4218 runs and claiming 68 wickets in 64 matches. 
• 2016: He played a pivotal role in leading Tamil Union to their first First-Class title in 55 years, amassing 868 runs at an average of 54.20. Additionally, he emerged as the team’s top wicket-taker with his off-spin bowling. 
• 2017-2018: In March 2018, de Silva was appointed vice-captain of the Colombo squad for the Super Four Provincial Tournament. The following month, he was named in Colombo’s squad for the Super Provincial One Day Tournament. 
• 2018: In August, he was included in Galle’s squad for the SLC T20 League. 
• 2019: De Silva was named in Galle’s squad for the Super Provincial One Day Tournament and was honored as the Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances. 
• 2020: He was drafted by the Jaffna Stallions for the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League. 
• 2021: In August, de Silva was appointed captain of the SLC Blues team for the SLC Invitational T20 League tournament. 
• 2022: He was signed by the Jaffna Kings for the third edition of the Lanka Premier League. 
Playing Style:
De Silva is known for his right-handed batting and right-arm off-break bowling, making him a valuable asset in both batting and bowling departments. 
His consistent performances in domestic cricket have been instrumental in his selection and success at the international level, reflecting his dedication and prowess in the sport.
