Our bride, Malisha, came to us with a truly unique vision.
Having deep roots and meaningful ties to four countries she considers home away from home, she wanted her Kandiyan bridal saree to tell the story of her journey through the elements she loved most from each place. The frangipani from Sri Lanka, the fern from New Zealand, the maple leaf and dogwood flower from Canada, and the wax flower from Australia.
Inspired by her story, we developed a custom botanical artwork incorporating flowers and foliage, each representing a different chapter of her life and the places closest to her heart. Drawing from Malisha’s love for batik, embroidery, and embellishment, we transformed these inspirations into a dull gold batik Kandiyan bridal saree adorned with embellishments and a custom embroidered statement saree fall. What began as an idea evolved into a labour of love and a sixteen week journey of storytelling through our heritage and artistry, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern embroidery techniques.
A glimpse behind the scenes of the process that brought this concept to life, resulting in a bridal saree as unique as the bride who wore it. ✨
