For the past twenty years, Man'ok & Cie have been proposing original, experimental and innovative projects linking music to other artistic disciplines: theatre, dance, performance, wandering, video, writing... Cutting and pasting through storytelling was a collective exploration on storytelling, zines, comics, scripts. It was set-up and hosted by Omaima M***a, Sarah Saleh, Jara van Teeffelen and a series of very personal zines came out.

The atelier 'Sape meets Hip-Hop' moved your way of being. It was an engaging dance workshop hosted by Parisse De Dorian Boumpoutou Loukalou and Jonathan Braga.

This year we continue with hip-hop-workshops for the local youth to work together on a unique spectacle to present during the Weaving Futures Festival (and beyond). Do you want to join? Pass by thursday late-afternoons at A Gadder in Belvaux!

The Spirit of Songwriting is an atelier to deepen your understanding on the rhythm of language. It is set-up and guided by Nazmul Haque Tonmoy (Sami), Priscila da Costa.

The participants familiarised themselves with simple tools that enabled them to write a song from scratch. Five beautiful and authentic songs came out of this workshop in 2021 and are now in further development with a new series of ateliers! They will be performed during the Weaving Futures Festival in June (save the date!)

Foodscaping was an atelier with a special care for one another through sharing recipes, cooking and fermenting, and eating together. It was set-up and hosted by Ola Allaf, Anna Celda, Sadiqeh Eftekhhari Danesh, Fiyori Estinfanos Dawit, Bascam Hatice, Siwar Kraitem and Samira Vogel.

In this workshop different aspects of our relationship to food were explored. From exchanging recipes to preserving vegetables, discovering local food production, different fermentation processes and baking sourdough bread. It inspired us to organise a community dinner on saturday 2 July in A Gadder, Belvaux (Save the date!)

Fadi Jaafar : "Sewing and making clothes is a very traditional thing across the world and people have always found ways to recycle and reuse clothes in different ways. Unfortunately, it now starts to disappear from households and we need it for not only recycling but also for environmental reasons".

Inner world – Outer world is a textile atelier where participants are threading identities, narratives & communities by rethinking post-consumer textiles. It has been set-up and hosted by Fadi Jaafar, Joshian Mangen, Samira Mousa, Julina Vanille Bezold and Samira Vogel. Together they developed new wearables and collective weavings.

We are exited to announce that this workshop is currently continuing on a weekly basis at A Gadder Museum in Belvaux! You are welcome to join the hosts wednesday afternoons and experiment with all kind of skills.

Stills and motion for emotions was a practice-based atelier to train photography and filmmaking as mediums for sharing and preserving stories, dreams and futures. It was hosted by Hazem Raed, Elettrauto Bisogno and Nael Nassan

This atelier transformed into a place of reflection and technical experimentation, discussing work and potentials. It was the first of a series of ateliers that have shaped WEAVING FUTURES; a space to build conversations with different skills and identities by making together.
