MEANING BEHIND THE DREAMCATCHER:
🔴 Generally Annalù starts from the center like in the MANDALAS and lets the shape disintegrate externally by fragmenting the wings and using ash to create the fading pulpiscolo effect.
The choice of the butterfly is also linked to its STRONG SYMBOLISM: nothing in her work is casual. In the Greek myth Psyche, it was represented with butterfly wings: the motivation is to be found in the meaning of the word Psyche which, in Greek, means both SOUL and BUTTERFLY 🦋.
For the ancient Greeks the Psyche was also identified with the soul, in fact, when they wanted to depict a deceased man, they painted it with a butterfly that came out of its mouth to hover in the air. (The belief that the soul takes the form of a butterfly is still widespread in Greece.)
So Annalù likes to think that the dreamcatcher is a sort of SCREEN FOR SOULS in which all the power of the cosmos is condensed.
