🌱 Firstly, the mature cotton harvested from the hillside farmers is dried in the sun.

☁️ Next, separate the cotton fibers from the seeds, using a traditional hand gin.

🧵 One hand draws out cotton fibers while the other winds them into a spindle.

🌤The spun yarn is soaked in warm rice water, sun-dried, and loaded onto the spinning wheel.

🌿 Colorful threads are dyed naturally with plants, roots, and tubers.

🪡 Finally, the weaver uses a backstrap loom to weave the beautiful traditional Chin textiles.

With their vibrant color and diverse design, these traditional Chin textiles represent the history and culture of the Chin ethnicity through art.🎨

Since long ago, the art of Myanmar’s traditional backstrap weaving has portrayed the diverse culture of ethnic groups within a single land.

However, in the modern era, the interest in traditional backstrap weaving has been decreasing with the rise of mechanized looms.

To help this nearly extinct traditional backstrap weaving continue, we should not only remember it as history but also preserve and pass down this ancestral craft to the next generation.

According to the saying “Keep the tradition alive”, let us continue to preserve the art of Myanmar’s traditional backstrap weaving which has been passed down from our ancestors.💙 . .
ရှေးယခင်မှစ၍ မြန်မာ့ဂျပ်ခုတ်ရက်ကန်းပညာရပ်သည် တစ်မြေတည်းတွင် အတူနေထိုင်ကြသော တိုင်းရင်းသားမျိုးနွယ်စုများရဲ့ မတူညီကွဲပြားသော ရိုးရာယဥ်ကျေးမှုများကို ဖော်ကျူးပြသလို့နေပါတယ်။

သို့‌သော်လည်း ခေတ်ရေစီးကြောင်း တိုးတက်ပြောင်းလဲလာသည်နှင့်အမျှ စက်ရက်ကန်းတွေ ပေါ်ပေါက်လာတာကြောင့် မြန်မာ့ဂျပ်ခုတ်ရက်ကန်းပညာရပ်ကို စိတ်ဝင်စားသူများလည်း နည်းပါးလာကြပါတယ်။
