It is heartbreaking to witness the lack of compassion shown by the CEO, Edric Zahra, of Identity Malta in giving the order that will separate a family of great integrity, well integrated into Maltese society.
The wife, a woman of very high integrity, with values of compassion that many today sadly lack, has been going through the asylum process for years. Her application was rejected and subsequently appealed twice. Meanwhile, the husband has continued to work hard, contribute positively, and add value to society as an honest and respected member of the community.
Today, by order of Identity Malta to the Venezuelan Consulate in Rome, the wife and their minor daughter face expatriation, causing the separation of a devoted family that has built its life in this country.
This decision risks destroying not only a family unit, but also the dignity, humanity, and values that should guide every just society.
