About The Designer - Before SCORPII CLOTHING

Rewind to 2015 - When the colour Black was my aesthetic. Everything from this collection was designed and created by me. From creating bags, face masks and hand knitting textures that added different elements to the colour palette.

Before the name changed to SCORPII CLOTHING - It was simply BEATRICE MABVUTO

During those times I was inspired by Japanese designers like Yohji Yamamoto and his use of the colour black and how he viewed it as a total, expressive medium rather than a lack of color. He famously described black as both modest and arrogant, lazy and easy, but deeply mysterious.

I showcased my graduate fashion collection representing De Montfort University on June 1, 2015, at Graduate Fashion Week held at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane in London.
