What makes a dress look expensive instead of cheap

1) Structure and weight
Luxury dresses have layers that support the body so the shape holds. Cheap dresses collapse or cling because there is nothing underneath to build the silhouette.

2) Intentional embellishment
Expensive dresses place stones, lace or appliqué in shapes that frame the body. Cheap dresses scatter sparkle everywhere with no placement or purpose.

3) Clean finishing
High-end pieces have invisible zippers, pressed seams and smooth linings. Cheap dresses show puckering, ripples, loose threads or plastic shine.

4) Fabric selection matters more than trend
You can copy a viral design and it will still look low quality if the fabric is thin or stiff. The material determines the mood more than the design.
