Remember in the Charlie Brown Peanuts cartoons a little guy with a dark cloud over his head? Well, that is. Me these days. After cleaning up from flooding and roof leaks for last few weeks, this morning I turned on shower to NO WATER! Went to most faucets in my house and no water. Went to ice cream shop and they had water. Time to call a plumber. My hero Paul the Plumber came within 30 min. (He was doing an errand in Centro near by)
We do not know exactly when, but the water from street valvue was turned off but pump kept running. Yikes.
Miracle pump was still working. Turned water valvues on and waited 7 hours to refill my reserve tank then I went to every water spout to turn on and run out air. It worked and a deep sigh of relief.
Lately my life is either a miracle or disaster. No inbetween. Frankly, I am tired. Taking a hot shower and going to bed. Church tomorrow.

We got a unexpected heavy rain last night, But we were ready! No awards for how pretty our barriers are but they worked. No water breach!

Today We are having a new sump pump at the old quilt shop. Now we can more easily eliminate standing water there. It has been six years since we flooded but still it is a mess to get rid of extra water.

Just now. Street flooded and car stuck in center of intersection next to Esinti at corner of my block. So far no problem for me. But hope it stops soon.

Big rain happening. This is garden above quu I lot shop with leaks. Put in some corrections but water above the plastic and sand bags! Put plastic and have shelves of batiks moved.
This was 30 min ago.

Yesterday Norma and Martha came back from their vacation to help clean up the water in every inch of first floor. In 11 years the casita has never flooded, but this time it did. So happy I chose to put everything on there up on blocks. The first blocks are about 4 “ they were wet. Second block did not get wet.
We found anything on floor not in a plastic container got dried out. Ran out of spots.
End of day we were all exhausted.
I sent Norma down to check out old shop, she came back in shock. She said entire shop had standing water. They are coming back today and we will tackle that mess,
Thank God no rain last night. But more is expected this week.
Big problem in shop is there is no drainage. I had put in sump pump to address but I took it out when shop was in escrow and they were tearing down the building.
Another lesson learned. Hopefully will find way to clean up problem today and rehook up sump pump.
Off to get rid of the water!

Big update. My phone was missing for 8 days!! Found it Monday afternoon. Cancelled my trip to go to US to replace it. Catching up on correspndencr but have a glitch!
Last night’s rain flooded our entire first floor. Have no electricity so can’t accurately assess damage, first problem is my purse was on floor and my passport got soaked. (Damn)
Brought my phone and watch to Allegro’s to charge, get some breakfast and coffee ! I am charged now and ready to face whatever challenge this cleanup will need. We will be closed tomorrow for sure.
Will take photos. Was totally caught off guard, have not flooded in six years. So glad I put everything up on blocks.
Ready or not, here I go…..

Today Tuesday, July 7 we need to close at noon. I am really sorry we are spotty about being open. Our staff is on vacation. We are on a skeleton crew until Sept. so recomend you call first or make an appt. Today I must go to doctor.
Will notify if any medical procedures are necessary for my eye and how that will affect store hours.

Today , July 2, I will be attending Graduation ceremonies for our sixth graders at Amigos de Mexico AC school. The Quilt Shop will be closed.
