After twenty years, deciding what’s next for the El Diablo Run isn’t easy. There are pros and cons to every possible path. Scaling back the stuff that made EDR so unique in the interest of a little safety and sanity has stripped away some of the crust that made our semi-annual Mexican adventure special.
We started the El Diablo Run in 2006 because we weren’t into events that were just excuses to shop and drink. Nineteen years later, that’s pretty much what the EDR has become.
Throughout it all, we’ve tried to be good ambassadors for Baja and for custom motorcycles. We’ve introduced a lot of folks to our version of fun on two wheels. That mission feels complete.
After speaking with my business partner and EDR co-founder McGoo, along with members of Biltwell’s hard-working, super-dedicated crew, the rough plan for 2026 is to throw one final blowout EDR to celebrate the twentieth anniversary. That’ll be the last one.
We’re thinking Ensenada for a night or two, then riding over to San Felipe for a couple more. We’re hoping to get some of the OG riders to come back for this final adventure and help us go out with a bang. After that, we’ll put this dirty devil of an idea to bed.
It’ll be the end of an era—one we’re glad to have survived, and one that thousands of motorcycle riders worldwide will never forget.
