The color blue has so taken on so much more significance to me in the last few months also deeply representing a women’s rights to choose, a color which stands against misogyny and the patriarchy. 💙🦋 a blue vote for is a vote for women ‘s rights and a vote against repression, racism and fascism. I do not agree with everything she stands for BUT she is clearly the better candidate.💙 please vote!!

BLUE teeny peek 👀 the range of darks to lights in this indigo is glorious, it moves me to dress only in monochrome blue. Not as severe, and definitely more interesting than all black 💫 can’t wait to reveal our last two months of work this Thursday. 🦋

It’s easy to leave everything cream and white and if anyone really knows me and Mexchic, its my go to palette but sometimes I need to jump off the cliff and embrace color, I’m not much of a pattern or frilly florals person really, I love a clean line and yes to some abstract color … so in less than a week these perfect babies will be a sea of blue 💙 but realizing also that they look so darn good in their natural state of crème that I’ve got to also make them in the neutrals because I need these in my closet NOW haha. The clothing I make is what I want to wear,a play on my own desire and memories. 💙

💙 We’ve been cutting new patterns and sewing up a storm at the studio in preparation for our new collection BLUE, arriving to the shop on October 31. Every piece is one of a kind, made with only natural materials like wool, cotton, silk and linen. Everything will be dyed with the indigo that I purchased directly with the farmers/producers last month 💙🌿

Something that I rarely do is over-dye after a garment has been sewn … usually I dye about 20-40 meters of fabric first and then sew up the collection, based on what the fabric tells me it wants to be… this time I wanted to work in an opposite way, and play with the idea of the finished garment telling me what it wants to be … 🤪💙🌿 I know … haha but really this is how it works. Can’t wait to begin the dying processes this week 💙 !! I’ll be posting in stories along the way 💙

love it when I’m the infinite scroll zone of my phone, going through years and years of images and work, searching for something specific but then come across an old idea I … this was from about 5 years ago, I wanted to play with the idea of Delft tiles, printing or embroidery but make them related to Oaxaca and textiles, I soooo love the fat sheep 🐑 🤣
