This time last year, invited me be part of the Women of Power. We had a beautiful discussion about art, craft and moving forward in life.

Much has happened since — I’ve found myself back on the loom, my natural habitat, more often than ever. I am now deepening my knowledge through a Master’s degree at Aalto University. I’ve been working on a few projects over the past year (pictured) and I look forward to sharing each one of them in more detail with you.

Reflecting on In𝒽𝑒𝓇itance, an exhibition I had the honour of curating. A celebration of our local female artists, we featured a range of emerging and established talent. For some, this was their first time ever exhibiting!

On a personal level, it was a blessed opportunity to question what curating means to me. To move beyond trends or intellectual frameworks and instead curate with intention and intuition. Listening closely to each artist’s voice, the curation grew from both connection and concept.

We partnered with Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO), whose mission to end violence against women and promote gender equality deeply resonated with us. 20% of sales profits were donated to WAO, while the remaining 80% went directly to the artists.

Together, we raised MYR13,500 for WAO in support of their vital work.
mokhtar spontaneously graced us with a few of her artists workshops, just the guide we needed!

This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support from .international 🙏🏼 Grateful to everyone that showed up!

Currently in Jaipur 📍soaking in the heat, colours, textiles, sampling some block prints, dreaming in stripes and checks, leaning into the process, making good friends, experiencing sand storms. As always, all good things take time!

It was the first week of 2024 in Melaka. My teacher handed me a lump of clay and I simply started sculpting. I had only one intention: to create pieces to include in my meditation practice 🕯️

The first of the two is a ‘Bunga Shan’ candle holder. Beyond holding candles, I wanted it to be a shrine in itself; its flowers can be illuminated by placing a tea light candle on either side of the base.

The crescent moon⁵ was painted with Shri Shiva in mind, who is seen adorned with a Chandra on his forehead 🌙 reflecting the cyclical nature of existence.

Slide¹⁰ for a glimpse of the second piece, an incense holder. The glaze did not turn out as expected, but it has made the long trip from Malaysia to Finland and sits on our little meditation corner that Kush set up.

Late to posting this, but happy 2025! 🐍🪐✨

Thank you for all the love this ! It was so lovely to catch up with old friends and make new friends 💙 None of this would be possible without you!

Huge shoutout to my booth buddy for keeping it 💯— not having dinner with me 3 days in a row, exchanging art all day and keeping each other awake.

For those enquiring about the handmade tableware, I’ll be releasing a bunch in 2025 🍽️
