The Swagger Salon Georgetown re-opened its doors at the beginning of 2022 after a near 2-year hiatus due to the pandemic lockdowns. However, the same can't be said for many other retailers — amongst them, many bookstores that didn't survive the economic downturn due to the pandemic. In our efforts to keep the love for books and bookstores alive, we recently introduced a new section at our flagship store in George Town, featuring a wide selection of exclusive titles ranging from design, fashion, art, architecture, animation, and miscellaneous lifestyle books curated specially for those in the creative and fashion industry seeking inspiration and knowledge.

We strive not just to be an independently-run business, but also to be a strong advocate for creative individuals looking to succeed independently. Swing by and browse our selection of design and lifestyle books which we update monthly if you're in the creative industry — students get a special discount, too.

While the past couple of years haven't been too kind to the retail industry, we're blessed that The Swagger Salon Georgetown flagship store is still soldiering on, 7 long years since we first opened our doors on 6th December 2014.

While our flagship store hasn't been open for walk-ins since the pandemic hit in March 2020, we're looking forward to and working on welcoming you back into the store real soon.

In the meantime, we've released two exclusive t-shirts in conjunction with The Swagger Salon Georgetown's and Backdoor Bodega's 7th and 5th anniversaries, respectively — paying homage to the city that these two establishments call home: George Town.

Paying homage to the delicious yet underrated Penang Curry Mee, we re-imagined this humble bowl of classic Penang hawker delicacy that dates back to the 1950’s through two exclusive Curry Mee-inspired pieces in conjunction with the Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival 2021, in the form of a graphic t-shirt and an everyday canvas tote bag — with our take on a traditional Curry Mee hawker branding in this era of food deliveries.

Join us in helping those in need — with a fashion statement that will really make a difference to someone's life.

Together with our fellow Malaysian clothing brands, we want to do our part in contributing a little to those in need. The "Empathy Over Sympathy" Charity Collaboration features a graphic t-shirt and a cap, where 100% of profits from the sales of these items will go directly to food banks around Malaysia to feed fellow Malaysians in need.

This collaborative t-shirt and cap pack is priced at RM198 each and will be sold through a pre-order basis via shop.theswaggersalon.com. Orders will be closed by 9th August 2021. Please allow up to two (2) months for delivery — as the actual shipping date is subject to the ongoing lockdown situation in Malaysia.
