I still remember that moment so clearly. The water was calmā¦ and then suddenly, something slimy drifted past. I froze and my heart dropped. Was it p**p? Was it something from her body? Did I miss something?
Panic hit before logic could catch up.
I looked at herā¦ so small, just happily splashing away.
And in that second, all I could think was ā did I fail to protect her?
I reached in, trying to find where it came from. And then I saw it. Her bath toy. That cute, harmless-looking toy I trustedā¦ I squeezed it ā and more of that slimy, murky water oozed out. My stomach turned.
All this while, it wasnāt just water inside. It was mould. Bacteria.
Things I couldnāt seeā¦ but were there, growing silently. And the worst part?
I had been using it on her. Every single bath...This is why having a safe bath toy is important, the ones that you can open up to clean or the ones that doesn't trap water.
