This time, Neonate collaborated with HAKA , an artisan batik studio based in Kampung Cherok Paloh, a village close to β’ πππ₯π π¦πππππ πππ₯ππππ β’βs hometown of Pekan, Pahang, to create handcrafted batik pieces that became part of our NEO MARKET collection.
For our Creative Director, Karl Shafek, this collaboration is also a celebration of talent that comes from close to home. He sees something truly special in Nihaka particularly in their unique approach to free hand βcantingβ and their ability to create motifs that feel fresh, distinctive and far from conventional.
For us, this collaboration is more than just batik. It is about celebrating local talent, preserving craftsmanship and bringing the creative spirit of our hometown into a contemporary fashion landscape.
We hope Nihaka continues to grow, evolve and eventually become one of the respected names shaping the future of Malaysian batik.
