Porcelain pieces framed in wood.
The porcelain pieces were cored from a beloved antique bonsai pot that had sadly cracked. The wood, salvaged from an old wardrobe that was custom made by parents for their child over a half century ago.
Both materials originated from things in our lives that were once essential, adored and cared for. These are materials with soul.
It would be painful to discard these things that have served us so faithfully for so long, akin to abandoning a loved one.
Crafting objects of art from items that are no longer functional, or have been outgrown, brings us hope that the essences of these things will continue to be loved and cherished.
This is how we honour our past. This is our legacy. This is what we do.
