What to Wear with a Dress 👗 and How to Accessorize it 💍
Accessorizing isn't an exact science, but there are some standards to follow to make it easier. Beyond all else, accessorising a dress is finding pieces that complement and complete your ensemble.
1️⃣ Match your accessories to the color of your dress.
This is one of the most straightforward methods to accessorise. Color is one of the most significant components of your dress, and matching your accessories to your dress will make your ensemble look balanced and well-put-together. If you're wearing a light pink dress, complement it with pink or rose-colored accessories.
It's not necessary to be accurate when matching. You can still wear dark pink shoes with a light pink dress, for example. This gives your pairing a unique twist.
2️⃣ Accessorize to a dress detail.
Rather than matching your accessories to the general hue of your gown, pair them with a secondary colour. This is especially useful with patterned dresses because there are multiple colours to choose from.
Wear pink or blue accessories if you're wearing a white dress with pink and blue flowers. This is a terrific approach to make a more subtle match with your clothing.
3️⃣ Pair a vibrant dress with neutral accessories.
Wear neutrals to balance off a brightly coloured outfit, such as a bright yellow dress. You can come across as odd rather than put-together if you match your accessories to your vividly coloured dress. Neutrals like white, black, tan, and brown go with practically every colour. Try gold or silver jewellery instead if you want some dazzle.
4️⃣ When wearing a patterned dress, opt for simple or solid-colored accessories.
A patterned dress has a lot going on already. When you add patterned or complex accessories, the appearance becomes overwhelming. Solid-colored shoes, bags, belts, and/or jewellery are recommended. These accessories will enhance the impact of your clothing. Pair bright red shoes with a polka-dot dress in blue and white. A set of simple stud earrings will look especially charming if your dress has a flowery pattern. To finish the appearance, wear it with black or leather flats.
5️⃣ With a neutral garment, add a brightly coloured item.
If your dress is a neutral hue like white, beige, or tan, a vibrant accessory will bring a pop of colour to your ensemble. Make one of your accessories, whether it's a statement necklace, a handbag, or your shoes, a bright hue. Wear a patterned handbag or shoes with your solid-colored outfit. You could, for example, pair a white outfit with a polka dot bag.
