Day 14 Numbers

In my high school, when every student got to choose between science, art and business as a main subject for the next 3 years, I was very determine to choose business for one reason - I wanted to be a boss in the future and sell what I made. It was quite funny but now I'm actually chasing my childhood dream ✨

Guess what, when I trying to do some accounting for the small business, I don't remember much from what I have learned 14 years ago. I still get lost in calculating prices, Etsy fees and profit margins… Dream vs reality🤭

The third prompt of the challenge

#3 Planning

I am not good at planning and constantly learning new techniques to practice & improve. What I’ve learnt recently is to be realistic but make it sounds exciting enough to make move forward! Gonna keep this in mind when planning.

Lesser self-doubt and more confidence, I am sure that this year is gonna be a year where I become the better me and so will my small business!

Fun facts: Do you know that when I first started this handmade business, I didn’t expect that I would be making more products for couples than individual? ✨✨

The final step in every embroidered t-shirt — hand sew the clothing label on. I only see two point to keep the clothing label in place, so it’s easier to be removed by the wearer. It is secure enough for those who love to keep it too.

This 30x40 customised couple portrait embroidery was recently created as a housewarming gift. I stretched and mounted the canvas on a thick artboard.

This will be framed in an Ikea 40x50 photo frame! Can't wait to see it in its new home!

Recent portrait line art created for a lovely couple 🤍

While drawing a portrait, I noticed that my mood changes during the process.

At first, I was excited about start something new and I enjoy exploring different compositions. After drafting and starting to creating the art, I began to worry and doubt myself.

Trust the process and keep working on it. I heard someone saying this, and in fact, that's true. Those portraits turned out looking great ✨✨✨

I happily sent out the mock ups to my customer and anxious about the feedback I will get. And when they said they love what I have done, happiness comes 🤍

Showing my outfit of the day!
Oversized sweatshirt with a pair of cream shorts that I made.

I always wash test each sample 10 times to make sure it feels soft and holds its shape after washes! To save some water and energy, I will replace my daily clothes with these samples. Thank God it's been cold lately and this long-sleeved sweater feels just nice without breaking a sweat.

Want a walk-through of the product customisation process?
After you have placed an order, decided on the products and details you want, send me your photos via Etsy message.
If you couldn't decide on which photo will have the best outcome, no worries. Just send me a few, I will make the decision for you!
If you would like to customise a line art with two portraits, they don't need to be in one photo. It's fine to have their individual photos. Send them to me and I will settle the rest!
After 3 days, check your Etsy message! You will receive the product mock-up. You can do some minor adjustments if would like to!
(Do remark "yes" for the art proof option! If you don't, I will proceed with the embroidery after design! )
Then I will start to embroider. I will send you a photo of the finished product once done before mailing out, so we double check to make sure everything is great!

It's Monday and a brand new week again!
I am curious about you!
Do you get up much earlier than you should? What motivated you to get up this morning?
These days, I am up without the feeling of tiredness, I will still stay in the bed but my mind is clear. I am surprised! But I still need an alarm to wake me up, or a super energetic sister who will come into my room and switch on all the lights despite me still sleeping. (Yup, that's my sister)

Love to have those "my passion wakes me up" kind of life one day :)
