The Reality Behind the Sparkle

Today was market day — sourcing fabric for a client’s dress and picking up pieces I’ll use to practice what I’ve been learning in my courses. The sun? Unforgiving. At one point I felt lightheaded, and honestly, it was exhausting.

Matching fabrics, threads, zippers... it sounds simple, but it takes time, energy, and a sharp eye. It’s one part of the job I don’t exactly enjoy — but I do it because it’s part of the magic. Every beautiful piece starts with this kind of behind-the-scenes hustle.
