WISDOM NUGGETS 101
(1)Words are one of the greatest gifts God has given to mankind. Through words, relationships are built, destinies are shaped, and lives are transformed. At the same time, careless words can destroy friendships, wound hearts, and hinder God's purpose. As Christians, we are called to use our words wisely because our speech reflects the condition of our hearts and the maturity of our faith.
(2)A person's speech is a reflection of what is stored within. Bitter words often reveal bitterness in the heart, while words of grace reveal a heart filled with God's love.
When we choose our words carefully, we demonstrate spiritual maturity and allow Christ's character to be seen through us.
Lesson:
Before speaking, examine your heart. If your heart is filled with God's Word, wisdom will flow from your mouth.
(3)“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.” — Proverbs 16:24
Many people carry wounds caused by criticism, rejection, and harsh speech. A word of encouragement can strengthen a weary soul and restore hope.
As believers, our words should:
Encourage the discouraged
Strengthen the weak
Comfort the hurting
Inspire faith in God
(4)“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” — Proverbs 15:1
Many arguments, family disputes, and church divisions could be avoided if people learned the wisdom of speaking gently.
Mature Christians understand that not every battle requires a response. Sometimes wisdom is found in silence.
Lesson:
Choose peace over pride and wisdom over winning an argument.
(5)“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying.” — Ephesians 4:29
God desires that our speech should strengthen others rather than tear them down.
Before speaking, ask:
Is it true?
Is it necessary?
Is it loving?
Will it build someone up?
(6)“If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man.” — James 3:2
Many people can control their actions but struggle to control their speech. Yet God considers mastery over the tongue a sign of spiritual growth.
Mature believers do not speak hastily, gossip carelessly, or spread negativity. They understand that words have consequences.
Lesson:
Spiritual maturity is measured not only by what you know but also by how you speak.
CONCLUSION:May we all pray like David:
“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” — Psalm 19:14
