There is a massive decline in the quality of Fabrics in the Nigerian market for sometime now and if you are into garment production in the fashion industry you are likely going to buy substandard fabrics if you are not careful.

Here’s what you can do:

1. Reduce random purchases of fabrics online except if you trust the vendor or are sure they know the quality you are looking for cause some of these fabric sellers don’t even know quality fabrics.

2. Go to physical stores and create a relationship and make sure you have a few fabric vendor plugs that understand the quality and nature of fabrics you want.

3. Always do a fabric test to check the quality before production; this is especially for ready to wear brands.

Just because you incredibly talented as a designer is not a guarantee to build a successful brand.

How did a 2 months break turn 2 years ? Definitely worth wondering 🤔

After having the challenge with the hike Rent prices, which forced us to downsize the brand vision for the mean time.

Other priorities stepped in. So I took more time off for personal development and simply just add value to@myself. Moreso life happened inbetween.

What was meant for short break quietly became two years away from showing up here.

Now I am just excited to create more, teach and add value on this space.

This is a gentle reminder that challenges are a part of life/business and we must find ways to navigate them per time. So don’t feel like you are the only one with issues 😀 we all do but always seek for ways to get through them. Rooting for you ❤️

Being talented isn’t always the reason a fashion designer earns well.

Understanding that fashion design business isn’t just about making clothes. It’s about positioning and strategizing as a business.

If you’re constantly busy making and creating new designs without giving time to what will make sales, your income will be low for a long time. Take some time off your sketchpad and sewing machine and examine your business.
