Yesterday was my son’s football tournament for the season so I went to support him. Personally, I am not a supporter of missing Sunday service when not officially working. I have learnt to not pick extra shifts or do anything that will jeopardize my attendance of church service, it has to be a very cogent reason for me to not be in church on Sundays.
Beside hearing the word and fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit on Sundays, it is also a time for me to mix with my kind in his clime. I can do the naija stuffs and exhume all the vibes with my own people, it is called fellowship after fellowship or service after service. This made me to always look forward to Sundays. Although the journey to church is he like the Israelites going to Canaan from Egypt, I do not mind the several train changes, buses sometimes or even the money spent on Uber. Anyways, that’s not the crux of my talk today. I had to attend service online yesterday to be physically present for Isaac, talk about a supportive mother, yes, na we be that.
You see, the previous year, the boys lost and, in this year, they lost so many games that sometimes when he comes home, I have to do some mental health checks, motivational talks (am the best in that) accompanied by hugs an intentional action to show support. Somehow, I was prepared for a win, I did not think about anything else such that while I was on my way here, he only thing that rang in my head were words to scream and cheer them when they make the moves or score the goals.
In life, you have to prepare for what you’re looking forward to. If you desire a win, prepare your winning speech ahead of time. If you want to excel, practice your dance steps so that it will not take you unawares. Then go ahead and attack that situation. Rehearse for the interview like never before, read for that exam as if your life depends on it (of course it depends on it). Go ahead and ace it. Remembering that it is what you plan well for in life that will fan out for you in life.
The kids trained for this and were mentally ready to take on their opponents so my duty as a supporter was to pray along. Thus, while attending service online and watching the boys play, I prayed for a win.
Go out here today, this week and in his month an achieve that desire that your heart longs for. It is not a enough to have a degree and think that is all you need for the position you want in life, no, prepare for that position. Don’t be lackadaisical about any meeting. Take interviews seriously and prepare yourself for a win.
It is motivational Monday and I want to encourage to give it another shot.
Go back to where you were rejected before now, only this time, be more prepared.
Put in for that exam again.
Try that sister again, this time change the words of your toasting 😅😅 , use perfume and iron those trousers, polish he shoes and see.
Be more prepared this time.
Be more intentional and see a new outcome.
Go and win until I come your way again with another lesson from that football game I watch.
Thank you for reading,
