Here’s what every pregnant mama should know👇🏾

‼️STOP & DO A KICK COUNT,
Lie on your left side in a quiet place and focus on baby’s movements.

Most babies should move several times within 2 hours. If movements are noticeably reduced or absent compared to your baby’s usual pattern ACT FAST.

‼️TRY TO STIMULATE MOVEMENT,
Drink cold water or juice, eat something light, gently rub your tummy, and rest quietly.
Sometimes babies sleep but persistent reduced movement should NEVER be ignored.

‼️CALL YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER IMMEDIATELY,
Even if it’s midnight.
Never wait till morning if your baby suddenly becomes less active.

‼️GO TO THE HOSPITAL IF MOVEMENT REMAINS LOW.
You may need,
✔️Fetal heart monitoring
✔️Doppler check
✔️Ultrasound assessment

These tests help confirm baby’s wellbeing.

‼️TRUST YOUR MOTHERLY INSTINCT,
You know your baby’s movement pattern better than anyone. If something feels wrong, speak up.
It is always better to check and be reassured than to stay silent.

⚠️VERY IMPORTANTLY!
Not every quiet baby is in danger… but reduced fetal movement should always be taken seriously.

❤️Early action can save lives.

✅ When is the best time to stop breastfeeding,

The WHO recommends,
✔️ Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months
✔️ Continued breastfeeding with solid foods up to 2 years or beyond

‼️But truth is the right time also depends on,
• Baby’s readiness
• Mother’s health
• Work/lifestyle
• Emotional readiness of both mother & child

⚠️How To Wean Gently & Safely👇🏾

‼️Do NOT stop suddenly if possible, Abrupt weaning can cause,
• Breast engorgement
• Breast pain
• Blocked ducts/mastitis
• Emotional distress for baby & mother

‼️Drop one feeding at a time
Start by removing the least important feed first (usually daytime feeds).

Give the baby a few days to adjust before stopping another one.

‼️Increase solid foods & fluids,
Toddlers above 6 months should gradually rely more on,
✔️Balanced meals
✔️Healthy snacks
✔️Water

‼️Offer comfort in other ways
Some babies breastfeed more for comfort than hunger.

Try👇🏾
🤍 Cuddles
🤍 Singing
🤍 Storytelling
🤍 Extra attention

‼️Avoid stopping during illness or major changes like ,

❌ Teething crisis
❌ Sickness
❌ Relocation
❌ Starting school suddenly

‼️For mothers, relieve fullness carefully.
If breasts become too full,
✔️Express small amounts only for comfort
✔️Wear supportive bra
✔️Cold compress can help

⚠️Avoid over-expressing, it tells the body to keep producing more milk.

⚠️Remember,
Weaning is not rejection.
It is a transition.
Go slowly, gently, and with patience for both mother and child.

❤️Children may forget some words,
But they rarely forget how their parents made them FEEL.

⚠️Gentle parenting is not weakness.
Healthy parenting builds emotionally secure children.

‼️Behind every maternal death is a story that should have ended differently.

🤰Many women are dying from preventable causes during pregnancy and childbirth such as heavy bleeding (postpartum hemorrhage), high blood pressure in pregnancy, infections, unsafe delivery practices, and delayed access to care.

⚠️Let’s be clear,
Pregnancy is not a death sentence.

‼️Yet too many women are still losing their lives because warning signs were ignored, care was delayed, or help came too late.

‼️This is why antenatal care, skilled birth attendance, emergency preparedness, and timely hospital referral are not optional they are life saving.

❤️Every mother deserves to live through childbirth and hold her baby safely in her arms.

😢We cannot keep normalizing preventable loss.

⚠️Speak up. Go for checkups. Ask questions. Demand care. Save lives. 💔

⚠️Family planning is only for women ❌ NO. Men have options too.
Let’s Talk About VASECTOMY👇🏾

‼️A vasectomy is a simple family planning procedure for men that helps prevent pregnancy permanently. It works by blocking the s***m from mixing with semen during ej*******on.

It does NOT👇🏾
❌ Stop a man from being intimate
❌ Reduce manhood or sexual performance
❌ Affect hormones or strength

‼️A man can still function normally. The difference is that s***m can no longer fertilize an egg.

‼️Why some couples choose vasectomy👇🏾
✅ They are done having children
✅ Safer and simpler than some female procedures
✅ No daily pills or frequent injections
✅ Long-term peace of mind for family planning

⚠️A vasectomy should be a WELL-THOUGHT decision because reversal is not always guaranteed.

❤️Family planning is not just a woman’s responsibility.
Healthy parenting and child spacing should involve BOTH partners.

💊Talk to a trained doctor or family planning nurse before making any decision.
