I went to the market to get materials and soles. I was supposed to make sizes 41 and 42. I bought soles labeled 41 and 42, and made two pairs, only to realize they didn’t fit my client. Imagine my shock when 42 felt like 40! 😅

I went back to the market with a tape rule to measure the soles this time, and discovered the so-called 41 was giving 39 and 42 was giving 40. I had to buy size 44 and 43 to make the right sizes.

👉🏽 Moral of the story for my fellow shoemakers: always measure ready-made soles before buying. Don’t be like me o 😄.

On the bright side, these beautiful mules turned out classy, lightweight, and unique , my client loved it!
I’m making a pair for myself too because this design is rich on the rise. ✨

My Interlace footwear is already making waves!💃
After the first pair found a home with a colleague☺️, an uncle from my children's church unit (I am a children minister)saw them and placed an order for his wife. Her feedback was amazing 😍and has given me a huge boost of motivation and confidence.🤸see the attached.

✨ My first footwear in a long while ✨

I paused this craft for some time (a long time), but one day, inspiration hit me again. Seeing a cute palm on my colleague made me say to myself, Why do I need a shoemaker, when I’m a creation maker? 💡

So, I dusted off my old tools, hammer, machine, brush... grabbed fresh leather, glue, and gum, and decided to test my hands once more. And here they are… these beauties! 😍

When I shared them with my colleague, the reaction was priceless, this is beautiful.
how did I do it? A little Pinterest inspiration, a lot of passion, and here we are. The best part, another colleague fell in love with them instantly and paid for it! 💃🏽

This is more than just footwear, it’s a comeback, a reminder that no matter the pause, you can always pick up your craft again.
