10 THINGS I WISH I KNEW WHEN I STARTED
Dear beginner sewist these are some things I learnt the hard way. Am sharing with you so you can jump and pass😄
1. Always discuss the total price with your client and make sure they agree or no deal.
2. Never use your money to buy materials to do a clients job, always insist on a deposit of at least 50% before you start.
3. During consultation with your client, take your time and analyse the style with them to make sure you all are on the same page.
4. Always take all measurements off your client don't assume or hurry especially if you're making something you have not tried before or a unique style.
5. It's absolutely okay to tell your client you can't recreate a style if it's beyond your expertise.
6. If you must bargain the price with your client don't be too quick to lower the cost so you don't look desperate.
7. It's absolutely okay to let a client go if they can not pay your happy price.
8. Have a time frame for delivering your orders depending on the quantity to avoid last minute rush or delaying and disappointing your clients.
9. As you work have a realistic expansion and growth plan and work towards it. This will keep you focused and give the motivation you need to keep going.
10.If you're are tired take a break, eat, watch a movie, take a walk , just do whatever relaxes you before you continue.
With love😘
